หลักการใช้ Infinitive without to
1. ใช้ตามหลัง Modal Auxiliary Verbs เช่น will, shall, would, should, can, could
may, might, must และอื่นๆ ซึ่งจะต้องเป็นกริยาช่องที่ 1 เท่านั้น
She must love him very much. (เธอต้องรักเขามากๆแน่เลย)
I would buy it if I had money. (ฉันคงจะซื้อมันไปแล้ว ถ้าฉันมีเงิน)
2. ใช้หลัง had better, would rather, would sooner, rather than, but, and, or, except
You’d better go to the hospital. (เธอควรจะไปโรงพยาบาลนะ)
I went to the school and talked to my teacher. (ฉันไปโรงเรียนและคุยดับคุณครู)
3. ใช้หลัง please, help, let, make, see, hear, feel, watch, notice
I don’t feel confident when I speak English. (ฉันรู้สึกไม่มั่นใจเลยในเวลาที่ฉันพูดภาษาอังกฤษ)
